Sea Barn and West Fleet Holiday Farms are pleased to be hosting the MV Freedom’s “Challenge 2008”.
MV Freedom gives over 2,500 disabled people a year the opportunity to enjoy the Dorset World Heritage Coast from the sea.
MV Freedom is run and crewed by volunteers and all funds raised by the Challenge go towards the MV Freedom’s running and maintenance costs. The vessel, which has full wheelchair access and is approved by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and the Health and Safety Executive, also offers trips around Portland harbour and deep sea angling.
The “Challenge 2008” is a 25 mile walk and is open to all comers and all ages. The “Challenge” starts and finishes at West Fleet Holiday Farm - the event’s main sponsors.
To take part in the walk there is an entry fee covering parking, light refreshments during the walk and a meal at West Fleet on return.
This year’s event will be held in September and follows a successful fund raising challenges in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Event organisers are keen to top last year’s attendance and are eager to find more walkers willing to take on the challenge of some of Dorset’s most spectacular countryside.
